President’s Report (Darin)
Beltline Cleanup April 21st 1150 Allene Ave. Hundreds of volunteers present from multiple neighborhoods. Pls sign waiver to participate (provided at table). Rain or shine event. Cleanup 9 to 12.
April 28th Tire Cleanup Day. Need volunteers with trucks to move tires and to clean up. Meet at Perkerson Park.
Coordination with Sylvan Hills and CVM for community clean up days. Looking at June 9th, August 18th, October 13th, and December 8th.
Library- 2 week window to close on Dill/Metropolitan property. Reach out to Joan Garner and John Szabo to let them know this is important to our community.
Perkerson Park has been heavily vandalized in past 6 weeks, particularly copper off the power lines. The splash pad has been vandalized – ATV, dirt bikes through the area. Due to open May 19th, so if you see anything pls call 911/police. Disc Golf course chain baskets have been stolen for scrap.
Coffee in the park has occurred twice now on Sundays. Please join your neighbors.

Q:How can we get our roads paved? Our roads are not as nice as East Point
A: Atlanta doesn’t have as much money to fix all these things. There is transportation tax that may give a portion of the money to this. So if you vote yes for this referendum then that may give us some money.

Splash pad is still on schedule despite vandalism. Want neighborhood to adopt this. Willing to pay a stipend to have someone adopt this splash pad. Want someone to know how it works. Eyes and ears of the park has to be in the community, police can’t watch all the time. Looking into a camera to monitor during construction. We need to organize around this right away while under construction. Need to have a community contact that is available that they can trust.
Coyotes caught in Emma Miliken park. Park should re-open May 1st.
Looking at putting cameras on Dill Ave and in problem areas.
Clean up 9am to 1-ish the beltline where future urban farm will be. 200 volunteers expected. Want local volunteers too, so please join.
May19th Jazz in the Park at Perkerson Park 2 pm to 6pm pre-event before the main event at Piedmont park May 26th (flier handed out).
