Highlights from the NPU-X meeting 2/11/13

• Pubic Works is enforcing illegal signs on poles and public right of ways ordinances and are removing the signs.
• Sylvan Hills had the highest crime rate last month.
• The new Zone 3 Police Precinct will be built at the corner of Metropolitan and Avery was announced, but will not be opened until 2015
• http://www.shotspotter.com an expensive software APD is looking at to address random gunshots.

  • Cars stopping for pedestrians in cross walk must wait until pedestrian is off the street.
  • Sign up for https://www.smart911.com A service to let 911 know if any issues in the home
  • Laser radar can be used in school zones.

• MARTA warns about Smart Phone and Tablets thefts on trains
